Bicycle tour around the Shkodra Lake

On Saturday, June 30, 2012, "Creative City" organized a bicycle tour in the context of promoting natural and cultural heritage values of Shkodra Lake. About 25 residents from Shkodra attended this tour and rode about 85 km from the town of Shkodra to Virpazar. The itinerary of this trip by bicycle passed by the Lake, and through the centers of Vranica, Golubovca, Tuz, Bajza Kopliku, and Shkodra ending with the old bridge of Buna. The group consisted of young and old, who have a passion riding bicycles.

Malteser Albania was present at the event with the First Aid service. An ambulance was present throughout the tour, in readiness to provide medical assistance in emergency.

Turne me biçikleta rreth liqenit të Shkodrës

Ditën e shtunë, më 30 qershor 2012, “Creative City” organizoi një turne me biçikleta në kuadër të promovimit të vlerave natyrore dhe trashëgimisë kulturore të liqenit të Shkodrës. Në këtë turne morën pjesë rreth 25 qytetarë nga Shkodra, të cilët pedaluan për 85 km nga qyteza e Virpazar deri në Shkodër. Itinerari i këtij udhëtimi me biçikleta kalonte buzë liqenit, duke përshkuar qendrat e Vranicës, Golubovcit, Tuzit, Bajzës, Koplikut, Shkodrës duke e mbyllur me urën e vjetër të Bunës. Grupi përbëhej nga të rinj e të moshuar, të cilët kanë pasion udhëtimin me biçikleta.

Malteser Shqipëri ishte e pranishme në këtë aktivitet me anë të shërbimit të Ndihmës së Parë. Një autoambulancë ishte e pranishme gjatë gjithë turit, në gatishmëri për të ofruar asistencë mjekësore në rast nevoje.

Pilgrimage with disabled people

On June 7, with the request of Father Martin Thompson, the parish priest of the church "Shënkoll" in Shkodra, the volunteers of Malteser Albania organized a pilgrimage for disabled people in the Sanctuary of “Saint Anthony” in Laç, Kurbin.

Three Malteser volunteers led by Sister Christiana and Father Martin assisted the physical disabled people reach the mountain, where the Sanctuary is settled, and together they prayed and took part in the Holy Mass, which was celebrated inside the Sanctuary by the parish priest of Laç and other priests.

There were three volunteers and 10 disabled people taking part in this pilgrimage, together with the parish priest and the Franciscan sister and two representatives of the church of "Shënkoll".

Shtegtim me personat me aftësi të kufizuar

Me 7 qershor, me kërkesën e dom Martin Thompson famullitar i kishës së “Shënkollit” në Shkodër, vullnetarët e Malteser Shqipëri organizuan një shtegtim për personat me aftësi të kufizuar në shenjtëroren e “Shën Antonint” në Laç të Kurbinit.

Tre vullnetarë të Malteser të udhëhequr nga motër Kristiana dhe dom Martini ndihmuan personat me aftësi të kufizuar fizike për t’u ngjitur në mal, ku ndodhet Shenjtërorja dhe së bashku janë dhe kanë marrë pjesë në Meshën e Shenjtë, e cila u kremtua brenda në Shenjtërore nga famullitari i Laçit dhe meshtarë të tjerë.

Në këtë shtegtim morën pjesë 3 vullnetarë dhe 10 persona me aftësi të kufizuar, së bashku me famullitarin dhe motrën françeskane dhe dy përfaqësuesit e kishës së “Shënkollit”.

The Children Day with Roma and Gypsy children

June 1st, the Children Day was celebrated with the Roma and Gypsy children in the settings of the “Village of Peace”.

On this occasion, Malteser volunteers together with the children presented a festive program with poems and songs. There were also present children and teachers of Malteser kindergarten. All the children were really satisfied, because they enjoyed it so much.

This celebration was attended by children, parents and teachers. At the end, Malteser volunteers offered presents for all the children.

There were 100 participants present in this event and it was organized and financed by Malteser Albania.

Dita e fëmijëve me fëmijët Rom dhe Egjiptianë


1 Qershori, dita e fëmijëve u kremtua me fëmijët Rom dhe Egjiptianë në mjediset e "Fshatit të Paqes".

Me rastin e kësaj feste, vullnetarët e Malteser së bashku me fëmijët prezantuan një program festiv me poezi dhe këngë.

Ishin gjithashtu të pranishëm edhe fëmijët dhe mësuesit e kopshtit Malteser. Të gjithë fëmijët u kënaqën vërtet, sepse kjo festë u organizua bashkërisht.

Ky festim u ndoq nga fëmijët, prindërit dhe mësuesit. Në fund të aktivitetit vullnetarët shpërndanë dhurata për të gjithë fëmijët pjesëmarrës.

Në këtë aktivitet ishin të pranishëm 100 pjesëmarrës ky aktivitet u organizua dhe u financua nga Malteser Shqipëri.

The Kindergarten Children celebrate

This year, various activities were organized on June 1st, the day of the children. One of them was the "Malteser" kindergarten program.

The Kindergarten teachers have been working with children for staging the tale "Snow White and seven dwarfs", which is one of the most favorite stories for children, and they themselves have been engaged in preparing it throughout the week.

In a very festive atmosphere in the presence of the teachers, parents and members of the Albanian Malteser, children have tried to perform the part in an excellent way.

At the end of this festive event, 21 children of "Malteser" kindergarten, who will start school in September, were equipped with diplomas for successful completion of pre-school cycle. The activity was followed by a cocktail for all the children and participants.

Fëmijët e kopshtit festojnë


Këtë vit shumë aktivitete janë organizuar ditën e 1 qershorit, festës së fëmijëve. Një prej tyre ishte programi i fëmijëve të kopshtit “Malteser”

Mësueset e kopshtit kanë punuar bashkë me fëmijët për vënien në skenë të pjesës teatrale “Borëbardha dhe 7 xhuxhët”, e cila është një nga historitë më të preferuara të fëmijëve dhe ata vetë janë angazhuar që ta përgatisin atë gjatë gjithë javës.

Në një atmosferë shumë festive, në praninë e mësueseve, prindërve dhe anëtarëve të Malteser, fëmijët janë përpjekur të aktrojnë në mënyrë të shkëlqyer.

Në fund të këtij aktiviteti festiv, 21 fëmijë të kopshtit “Malteser”, të cilët do të fillojnë shkollën në shtator, janë pajisur me diplomat e përfundimit me sukses të ciklit parashkollor. Aktiviteti u pasua me nje koktej për të gjithë fëmijët dhe të pranishmit.

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje

As a continuity of the religion activities that organize Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri, the first pilgrimage for this year was programmed in Medjugorje.

Medjugorje is a town located in western Bosnia and Hercegovina, is a special place visited by thousands of pilgrims each year in search of the spirituality and serenity that exists in this place. Six children from this small village located in the southwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina reported a series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary that began on 24 June 1981 and still continue today.

Our pilgrimage was guided by the spiritual leader of Malteser, Father Gazmend Tinaj. Six volunteers and two staff members led by spiritual leader have climbed the mountain and prayed close to the holy place where the Virgin Mary appeared; afterwards they participated in the Holy Mass. The Mass was held in the Medugorje church and celebrated by the Parish priest of Medjugorje in collaboration with Fra Gazmend Tinaj (Spiritual leader of MNSH) and other priests as well. During their stay, MNSH team has visited the Malteser ambulatory and their German colleagues in Medjugorje. In return we visited the Cathedral of Mostar, which was rebuilt after the bombing of Serbian forces during the ‘92 - ‘95 war.

Pelegrinazh në Medjugorje

Në vazhdimsi të aktiviteteve fetare që organizon Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri, pelegrinazh i parë për këtë vit ishte programuar në Medjugorje.

Medjugorje është një qytet i vendosur në perendim të Bosnje dhe Hercegovinë, është një vend i veçantë i vizituar nga mijëra pelegrinë çdo vit në kërkim të përshpirtërimit dhe qetësis që ekziston në këtë vend. Gjashtë fëmijë nga ky fshat i vogël që gjendet në jugperëndim të Bosnjës dhe Hercegovinës kanë raportuar një seri të shfaqurit e Virgjëreshës Mari, që filluan më 24 qershor 1981 dhe ende vazhdojnë edhe sot.

Pelegrinazhi ynë u udhëhoq nga drejtuesi shpirtëror i Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri Pader Gazmend Tinaj. Gjashtë vullnetarë dhe dy anëtarë të stafit të udhëhequr nga drejtuesi shpirtëror janë ngjitur në mal duke u lutur deri në afërsi me vendin e shenjtë ku është shfaqur Virgjëresha Mari, më pas ata kanë marrë pjesë në meshën e Shenjtë. Mesha u zhvillua në kishën e Medugorjes dhe u kremtua nga Famullitari i Medjugorjes në bashkëpunim me Pader Gazmend Tinaj (udhëheqës shpirtëror i MNSH) si dhe priftërinjtë e tjerë. Gjatë qëndrimit të tyre, ekipi i MNSH ka vizituar ambulatorin e Malteser dhe kolegët e tyre gjerman në Medjugorje. Në kthim u vizitua katedralja e Mostarit, e cila ishte rindërtuar pas bombardimeve të forcave Serbe gjate luftes se vive 92- 95.



Social activities on the occasion of Easter celebration

On the occasion of the Easter celebration, the Malteser volunteers have organized entertainment activities with children of Roma and Egyptian communities and with girls who live at the house “Missionaries of Charity”.

Volunteers together with children of Roma and Egyptian communities have designed and painted the Easter eggs. Afterwards, an entertaining atmosphere was created with different games organized in the settings of our social-center. The feast ended with a cocktail and sweets.

There were 35 children participating in this activity accompanied by 3 MNSH volunteers.

On this day, in afternoon our volunteers have visited the house “Missionaries of Charity” Mother Teresa. In their settings, volunteers have shown a favorite movie of the girls and then they offered the Easter eggs and sweets for all the girls and children. There were 30 girls and 7 volunteers present in this activity.

Aktivitete sociale me rastin e kremtimit të Pashkëve

Me rastin e kremtimit të festës së Pashkëve vullnetarët e MNSH-së kanë organizuar aktivitete argëtuese me fëmijët e komunitetit Rom dhe Egjiptian dhe vajzat që jetojnë në shtëpinë “Misionaret e Bamirësisë”.

Vullnetarët bashkë me fëmijët e komunitetit Rom dhe Egjiptian të ndihmuar nga vullnetarët i kanë pikturuar dhe lyer vezët e Pashkëve. Më pas u kalua në një atmosferë argëtimi dhe lojërash të ndryshme te organizuara ne ambientet e qendres-sociale. Në fund festa u mbyll me një koktej dhe ëmbëlsira.

Fëmijët që morën pjesë në aktivitet ishin 35 të shoqëruar nga 3 vullnetarë.

Pasditen e kësaj dite vullnetarët kane bëre një vizitë në shtëpinë “Misionaret e Bamirësisë” Nënë Tereza.

Vullnetarët kanë shfaqur një film të preferuar nga vajzat në ambientin e shtëpisë së tyre pastaj u ofruan vezët e Pashkëve dhe disa ëmbëlsira për të gjitha vajzat dhe fëmijët. Në këtë aktivitet ishin të pranishme 30 vajza dhe 7 vullnetarë.



“Via Crucis” (Way of the Cross)

Even this year, during Lent season, as it is in the tradition, on March 17, 2012 there was celebrated the Via Crucis in the Mountain Tarabosh in Shkodër.

This activity is organized by the youth group of the Cathedral of Shkodra "Teacher where do you live" (MKB) in collaboration with all catholic youth groups of our Diocese.

As every year the faithful from Shkodra climb the mountain of Tarabosh to recall the Passion of Jesus and pray the 14 stops of the Way of Cross.

On this sunny and beautiful day, the celebration started with the greeting of the parish priest Dom Gjovalin Sukaj followed by the greeting of H.E. Bishop Angelo Massaffra. There were many faithful present, young people, and the members of the catholic youth groups. The prayer of the Station of the Cross began at 9.00 am and it lasted for about four hours. Three MNSH volunteers prayed the 2nd station "Jesus carries the cross"

There were 10 volunteers and 3 staff members present in this activity.

Udha e Kryqit

Edhe sivjet, në kohën e Kreshmëve, asht siç është bërë tashmë traditë, u kremtua Udha e Kryqit në malin e Taraboshit në Shkodër, me 17 mars 2012.

Aktiviteti u organizua nga grupi i të rinjve të katedrales së Shkodrës "Mësues ku Banon" (MKB) në bashkëpunim me grupet rinore katolike të Dioqezës sonë.

Si çdo vit besimtarë nga Shkodra i ngjiten malit të Taraboshit për të kujtuar mundimet e Krishtit e për t'u lutur në 14 ndalesat e Udhës së Kryqit.

Në një ditë të bukur dhe me diell, kremtimi filloi me përshëndetjen e famullitarit Dom Gjovalin Sukaj, që pasoi me fjalën e Shkëlqesisë së Tij Imzot Angelo Massaffra.

Në këtë ditë, të pranishëm ishin besimtarë të shumtë, të rinj e të reja dhe anëtarë të grupeve rinore katolike. Lutja e Udhës së Kryqit filloi në ora 9.00 dhe zgjati për rreth 4 orë. Vullnetarët e MNSH lutën ndalesën e II, “Jezusin i ngarkojnë Kryqin”.

Ne këtë aktivitet morën pjesë 10 vullnetarë dhe 3 anëtarë të stafit.

Entertainment activity for disabled girls

On the occasion of the Women’s Day, MNSH volunteers in cooperation with Nuns of MC have organized a journey to Tirana with the girls who live at the house “Missionaries of Charity” Mother Teresa. On 8th March, in the morning the girls accompanied by six MNSH volunteers and two Nuns traveled to Tirana.

During the trip they were entertained in company of music and funny games leaded by volunteers.

Once we reached the “City Park” in Tirana, girls helped by volunteers start to practice skating in one of the skating races. At noon, they were served refreshments and pizza by the volunteers who helped to organize this activity.  In this activity, considerable number of girls took part, which spent some lovely hours in the company of our volunteers.

This day was very special and impressive for girls and volunteers too.

Aktivitet argëtues me rastin e festës së gruas

Me rastin e festës së gruas, vullnetarët e MNSH në bashkëpunim me Motrat e Nënë Terezës kanë organizuar një eskursion në Tiranë për vajzat që jetojnë në shtëpinë e “Misionareve të Bamirësisë”.

Me 8 Mars, në mëngjes vajzat të shoqëruara nga gjashtë vullnetare të MNSH dhe dy Motra udhëtuan për në Tiranë. Gjatë udhëtimit, ato u argëtuan në shoqërinë e muzikës dhe të lojrave të drejtuara nga vullnetarët e MNSH. Sapo mbërritëm në qendrën e “City Park” në Tiranë, vajzat të ndihmuara nga vullnetarët filluan të praktikonin patinazhin në një nga pistat e patinazhit. Në drekë, atyre iu ofruan pije dhe pica nga vullnetarët që ndihmuan ne realizimin e këtij aktiviteti. Në këtë aktiviteti morën pjesë një numër i konsiderueshëm i vajzave, të cilat kaluan disa orë të këndshme në shoqërinë e vullnetareve tona

Kjo ditë ishte shumë e veçantë dhe mbresëlënëse për vajzat dhe vullnetarët gjithashtu.

Donation of emergency medicaments and antibiotics by MNSH

After the request of the Directorate of Public Health of M. Madhe , "“Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” donate emergency medicaments and antibiotics for the completely isolated communes of North Albania as the most remote mountains area “Vermosh”. Medicaments will be transported tomorrow to the Health center there by helicopters. Today two tentative of helicopter landing failed because of very bad weather conditions.

As always also during these difficult days, “Malteser Ndihmon në Shqipëri” continues to support people of Boge, Bratosh, Sheldi with medical assistance and basic medicaments. MNSH donates medicaments to the Directorate of public health of M. Madhe also for other isolated villages. State nurses who collaborate with Medical structure of MNSH have also been furnished with emergency medicaments and antibiotics with the aim to support also villages near the ambulatories where MNSH works.

This week, medical team of MNSH, using a good “land rover” (donated some years ago by St. Cyriakus supporting group) and supported by bulldozers of the communes will be able again to reach the ambulatories in Boga and Bratosh.

Difficult situation of another Roma community

Informed by the representatives of the municipality of Shkoder on the very difficult situation of another Roma community that lives in tents and cabins near shore Drini River, asked also by the Emergency Commission of Shkodra Region, MNSH support the second Roma community (45 Roma families, 120 people) every day with hot meals and clothes.

It is the same situation like with all Roma community in our region.

 

Stating from yesterday, Civil Protection structures of MNSH prepare and distribute everyday hot meals for 250 persons (nearly half of them children).

Medical staff is also offering its services to this community.

In almost half of country due to snow and low temperatures

(ANSAmed) - TIRANA, FEBRUARY 13 - Following an extraordinary meeting last night, the Albanian government has declared a state of natural disaster in almost half of the country, which has been hit by a wave of poor weather conditions. "Snowfall and low temperatures will continue over the next few days. So our efforts are aimed at preventing all loss of human life," said the Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, announcing greater use of army forces and equipment. Four people have so far died in the country as a result of the cold. The latest case was recorded yesterday, when a 45-year old man died of hypothermia after being caught in the snow for more than 30 hours.

The state of natural disaster concerns 5 of Albania's 12 provinces, including the entire north of the country (Shkoder, Kukes and Dibra), the east (Librazhd) and the south-east (Korca). Entire villages have been cut off and are without any communication facilities. An increasing number of families, meanwhile, are complaining of a lack of food, while the weather has often disrupted the intervention of helicopters handing out food and medicine, with many country roads inaccessible. Many areas have seen more than two metres of snow. A number of avalanches have been recorded, and there is a danger that roofs could be unable to bear the weight of the snow, which continued to fall heavily yesterday.(ANSAmed).

Activity of the day of the sick

On February 11, a very cold day with snow. The Mass was organized in the Cathedral of Shkodra and was celebrated by Mons. Angelo Massafra, with the parish priest and other priests as well.

In Shkodra, some of the volunteers were engaged to collaborate with the Sisters of Mother Teresa "Missionaries of Charity" in transporting the sick children and old and sick people from their houses to the Church and vice-versa.

At the end of the Mass, celebrants gave thanks to all those who helped in organizing the Mass, and a special thank was given to MNSH-volunteers that in a day so cold they were in service to help people in need.

There were six MNSH volunteers taking part during Mass and two cars were in service. Other volunteers were engaged in an emergency situation that is facing our region.

 
Dita e të sëmurëve

11 shkurt, një ditë shumë e ftohtë me borë. Mesha e të sëmurëve u organizua në Katedralen e Shkodrës dhe u kremtua nga Imzot Angelo Massafra, famullitari dhe meshtarë të tjerë.

Në Shkodër, disa nga vullnetarët ishin të impenjuarata të bashkëpunonin me Motrat e Nënë Terezës “Misionaret e Bamirësisë” për të transportuar fëmijët e sëmurë të shtëpisë së Motrave dhe të sëmurë të tjerë apo të moshuar nga shtëpitë e tyre për në Katedrale dhe kthim.

Në fund të Meshës, kremtuesit falënderuan të gjithë ata që ndihmuan në organizimin e Meshës, dhe një falenderim i veçantë iu dha vullnetarëve të MNSH-së që në një ditë kaq të ftohtë ato ishin në shërbim të njerzve në nevojë.

Gjatë Meshës ishin të pranishëm gjashtë vullnetarë të MNSH dhe dy makina. Vullnetarët e tjerë ishin të impenjuar në situatën emergjente që po kalon rajoni ynë.

Bad weather and snow falls in North Albania.

Difficult situation for roma people in Shkoder.



Two representatives from Roma communities that lives in tents and cabins in suburbs of Shkodra (shore Buna River) asked “Malteser Ndihmon ne Shqiperi” to support them in these cold, snow days.

During these days it’s not possible for us to earn daily bread (begging, collecting and selling scrap and plastic materials).

40 families have nothing to eat.

One of the representatives said: we asked for support state institutions but no one has responded to our request.

In the facilities of MNSH office, its staff and volunteers prepared hot meal for 130 Roma people. MNSH staff and volunteers shows a special attention to 65 children that are part of this community.

Since this evening every day we continue to serve hot meal for this community.

MNSH supports them also with basic medical assistance.

On January, as continuity of our activities the Malteser volunteers have organized socio-education activities with the girls who lives at the house “Missionaries of Charity” Mother Teresa.

One of these activities, volunteers together with the girls, has enjoyed home-cinema in Malteser office settings.

MNSH volunteers have selected an Albania movie, suggested by girls. They enjoyed not only the movie but also they really appreciate being in the company of the volunteers as well, who try to offer them friendship and love.

These social education activities are weekly organized by Malteser volunteers.

Other activities were those organized by volunteers with Roma and Gypsie children, in the settings of Malteser in Village of Peace. The children were accompanied by the MNSH volunteers during their competitions. During these activities, there were 8 MNSH volunteers taking part.

Në janar, në vazhdimsi të aktiviteteve, vullnetarët e Malteserit kanë organizuar një aktivitete social-edukues me vajzat që jetojnë pranë qendrës së Misionareve të Nënë Terezës.

Në një nga këto aktivitet, vullnetarët bashkë me vajzat, janë kenaqur duke parë një film shqiptar të shfaqur ne ambientet e zyrës së Malteser.

Vullnetarët e MNSH, kanë përzgjedhur filmin shqiptar të sugjeruar nga vetë vajzat.

Ato kanë shijuar jo vetëm filmin e shfaqur por ato janë kënaqur në shoqërinë e vullnetarëve gjithashtu, të cilët përpiqen tu ofrojnë atyre miqësi dhe dashuri.

Këto janë aktivitete social-edukuese javore, të organizuara nga vullnetarët e Malteserit.

Aktivitete të tjera janë edhe ato të organizuara me fëmijët e komunitetit Rom dhe Egjiptian, në ambientet e Malteserit në Fshatin e Paqes. Gjatë këtyre aktiviteteve, konkurseve, fëmijët ishin në shoqërin e vullnetarëve të MNSH. Pjesmarrës, në këto aktivitete ishin 8 vullnetarë.
